Outdoor Fireplaces

Most people only really consider indoor fireplaces and wood stoves, but there are outdoor heating choices as well. These really are great for those cool autumn nights when you are entertaining guests in your backyard. Outdoor fireplaces provide light and warmth, in addition to keeping pesky insects away from you and your guests. They also work great on camping trips, or even after a summer barbeque when everyone is sitting around conversing. When it comes to an outdoor fireplace the choices are only limited to your imagination.

Being an outdoors kind of person, I have always had an interest in outdoor fireplaces or firepits. My dream has always been to have a big cabin in the country, with a huge deck and a built-in fire pit in the middle. I always imagine having a fourth of july family gathering where everyone relaxes after dinner around the fireplace. The kids could roast marshmellows and the adults could enjoy their favorite beverages. That is what it's all about for me. It almost seems like it would be a great television commercial for selling these types of fireplaces.

Just last year I had the chance to visit my younger sister and her husband, and immediately made my way to her outdoor fireplace that she had on the patio. It resides just behind their house, on the patio next to the deck. It is a great place to pull up some chairs and just hang out by the fire. It was this experience that told me it was time for me to invest in one of the newer outdoor fireplaces to make my backyard into something I always dreamed. It was perfect timing as we had just finished building the new deck on our home and needed something to make it complete. A fireplace was just the item. It will give us a nice, central spot to gather after dark and the smoke will keep all the insects away. Smoke actually works similar to a natural bug repellent, which is much needed when you live near any kind of woods. Not to mention the great smores you can make while sitting next to it. All in all it is a great investment if you ask me, and one that can make your yard into an inviting area for your family and friends.
